330 $aIn the current study I demonstrate that an analysis using the mora, which is a prosodic
unit that marks syllable weight , can clarify problematic areas in the morpho-phonology
of Bechar Algerian Arabic : the difference between CәCC and CCәC monosyllabic
words; vowel epenthesis ( schwa ), deletion and intrusion of vowels , and the lengthening
and shortening of vowels in a specific morphological context . In this study I also give a
brief view of the literature of Algerian Arabic and present the variety which constitutes
the subject of study in this work .Therein , I list the consonantal and vocalic inventions
of this variety.
